I'm Jarryd. I coach runners.
I'm an ultra-runner and a Trifocus-certified coach. I run a small online strength & conditioning practice for runners who want to train like this is a long-term sport — because it is.

How I got here.
I came into running the way a lot of people do: I wanted to see what I was made of. One marathon in 2019, turned into a 50 km, which turned into a 100, which turned — somehow — into a 320 km race that I'm still not entirely sure I should have entered.
Along the way I learned the hard way that mileage alone doesn't keep you healthy. Every time I got hurt, the answer wasn't more running. It was stronger hips. Stronger glutes. A core that didn't collapse at kilometre 80. A pair of calves that could still absorb impact after 12 hours on feet.
I got my Trifocus certification in 2023 and started coaching other runners through the same lessons — minus most of the detours. Since then I've worked with athletes from my home running club — Sunninghill Striders — and a handful of other runners online, from first-time marathoners to seasoned ultra athletes.
I coach online while holding a full-time 9-to-5 job because I want others to be strong and enjoy the fruits of running consistently while enjoying the miles.

My coaching philosophy, in three lines.
——Strength serves the run, not the other way around.We're not trying to turn you into a powerlifter. We're trying to make your running more robust, more efficient, and more enjoyable over the long haul.
——Minimum effective dose.You already run a lot. You don't need me piling on five gym sessions a week. Two or three well-programmed sessions beat five random ones every time.
——Programmes that flex with real life.Big week of running? Bad sleep? Work travel? We adjust. A plan you can't follow isn't a plan — it's a guilt trip.
